Design and construction management for builders

EJS Trade builds its own homes in Texas. We bring the same design work and site management to your projects: one of them, or both.

Quoted per project

Tell us about the project and we send you a written quote. If you accept it, we’ll email you an invoice.

No payment on this site.

— How we run a site

From the soil to the finish.

Photographs from one of our own builds.

  1. Step 1: Soil first

Before the slab, an independent testing lab checks the pad's compaction and moisture with a nuclear density gauge.

  2. Photograph of a freshly poured slab, with building materials under a weighted tarp in front of it.

    Step 2: The slab

We let the slab cure at least two weeks before any work goes on it.

  3. Photograph of lumber and board on the lot, covered by a tarp held down with weights.

    Step 3: Materials protected

We keep the lumber covered on the lot, rain or shine.

  4. Photograph of the same home framed and wrapped, with the roof on and the windows in.

    Step 4: Dried in

House wrap on, roof on and windows in, so the inside stays dry.

  5. Step 5: Design placement checked

Before walls close, we check outlets, fixtures and blocking against the design booklet.

  6. Photograph of insulation fitted between the wall studs beside a window opening.
Close-up photograph of insulation batts between the studs of one wall.

Step 6: Walls walked, then insulated

We walk every wall cavity for plumbing, wiring and sealing before insulation goes in.

Insulation goes in and is checked before the drywall covers it.

  7. Step 7: Pre-drywall check

Before drywall, we check insulation, nail plates and blocking, wall by wall.

  8. Photograph of the finished kitchen of the same home, with a stone waterfall peninsula.
Photograph of a finished shower with large tiles, a niche and brass fittings.
Photograph of the finished dining and living space with a globe chandelier.

Step 8: The finish shows it

The care that goes in under the walls shows in the finished rooms.

The kitchen, a shower and the dining room of the same home.

  9. Step 9: You see it every week

Progress photos and an update reach you every week of the build.
